News & Articles The Bullet--2009 January Newsletter NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR-- CHANGING TIMES
This year is going to be a good year for our members! When times get tough, the tough get going. You know when these social and economic changes create a little upheaval; there are new opportunities all over the place. When some others find themselves out of work, many determined individuals go out and find BETTER jobs or work into situations where they increase their income in spite of hard times.
The country has voted in a new president and consequently, the political status quo is changing. Even with the shift of political direction, many American service members will still be placing themselves in harms way, including several members of the Order. We have members and sponsors that work in the military, and State Department, and defense industries that are essential in securing our country. Order members should be proud to be in the same fraternity as these fine citizens. We are proud of them and hope their assignments result in successful missions for our nation and that all of them will come back safely.
We also have many Order members in law enforcement, corrections, and emergency services. Our thoughts and support are with them this year as they go about their hazardous duties. We appreciate what you do for the community. May you be safe this year as you protect the public.
This past year has seen an increase in our membership, and there are promising reports of more Order members and increased training in the lodges. We have added seven new Masters in 2008. Master Thomann and Master Williams are promising big things this year to come.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you during the coming year. I am trying to clear up my schedule so I can travel a little more to visit with you all. Let’s make this a year that we communicate with each other and support each others’ efforts to bring strength to our nation by training our fellow citizens in the military traditions and martial arts. Pass it on to them!
Membership donations for 2009 – Black Belts and Masters $50 - Under Belts $10 It is important that these be sent in promptly! Also, I am announcing there may be administration fees initiated this year for some promotions or activities. These changes will be posted on this website. I would also like to see some Articles from our member Black Belts and Masters (students too) for the website this year.
